About this Mod

Unofficial Fork of "Oculus",made to work with neoforge 1.21+

Features

Features
  • Performance. Oculus should fully utilize your graphics card when paired with optimization mods like Rubidium.
  • Mod compatibility. Oculus should make a best effort to be compatible with modded environments.
  • Backwards compatibility. All existing ShadersMod / OptiFine shader packs should just work on Iris, without any modifications required.
  • A well-organized codebase. I'd like for working with Iris code to be a pleasant experience overall.

NeOculus has embedded two mods that provides better experience and performance:

Swaying Garden
  • Applying shader effects to modded plant blocks often requires modifying files in the resource pack, which can be cumbersome and tedious, especially when you want to switch shaders easily. This mod simplifies the process by easily enabling modded plant blocks to sway with shader effects, creating a dynamic and immersive visual experience in your world—whether it's flowers, saplings, or other plant-like blocks.
  • Project Link
Accelerated Rendering
  • Using GPU to accelerate vertex transformation, resulting in several times faster fps when rendering a large number of entities/text/item entities
  • Project Link

Please, don't report Oculus' issues to the official Iris Github.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does NeOculus need to be installed on the Minecraft server?

No. Modrinth marks NeOculus as unsupported on the server side. Install it only in your local Minecraft mods folder. Your server can remain unchanged unless the mod page lists an additional dependency.

Which version and loader does NeOculus require?

Use a file for neoforge and your exact Minecraft version. Supported versions include 1.21.1. Files for different loaders are not interchangeable.

NeOculus is not working – what should I check?

First check the Minecraft version, loader version and required dependencies. Put the .jar file in your local .minecraft/mods folder and remove older duplicates. Because this mod is client-side, adding server RAM will not fix it.
