About this Modpack

Minecraft Legacy — running on Fabric 1.20.1
Ever wanted to replay Minecraft's history without giving up your modern client? That's the idea behind this pack. Every era gets rebuilt — from the rough early Alpha days, through Beta 1.7.3, up to the official 1.0 release — with the terrain generation, mechanics, and quirks that made each version feel the way it did, all running on Fabric 1.20.1 so it stays stable and mod-friendly.
What's inside
A real trip through the versions
World generation changes depending on which era you pick — old cave systems, old biome shapes, old crafting limitations. It's tuned to actually feel like the version it's recreating, not just "old for the sake of old."
Old-school feel, modern engine
Fabric 1.20.1 means better performance and compatibility than the original versions ever had, without breaking the vibe of the era you're playing in.
Something to do in every version
Each recreated era has its own challenges built in — it's not just a nostalgia trip, there's actual stuff to build, fight, and survive through.
Made to play with others
Pick an era with friends and go. Works well for small survival worlds or a full-on multiplayer server.
Why I made this
I've been playing Minecraft since way back, and a lot of my best memories come from versions that don't really exist in playable form anymore. This pack is my attempt to bring those eras back properly — not old textures slapped on a new version, but each one rebuilt to actually play the way it used to.

Frequently Asked Questions
Minecraft Legacy server crashes or won't start – what to do?
Most common causes: insufficient RAM or wrong fabric loader. Check latest.log for "OutOfMemoryError" → increase RAM to at least 8 GB. For "Mixin" or "ClassNotFoundException" errors: modpack version and loader don't match. With Mado Hosting, loader and Minecraft version are auto-configured on modpack install – preventing most startup issues.
How much RAM does a Minecraft Legacy server really need?
Minimum 6 GB, recommended 8 GB for stable performance. per 5 players. Important: Minecraft modpacks need more RAM than vanilla – plan extra per additional player. With Mado Hosting, you can scale RAM up live at any time without data loss (from €7.800000000000001/month).
Can I add custom mods to Minecraft Legacy without conflicts?
Yes, but check compatibility: only use mods for the same loader (fabric) and same Minecraft version (1.20.1). Common issues: ID conflicts with recipe mods and incompatible coremod versions. The Mado dashboard mod browser only shows compatible mods and warns about known conflicts.
Minecraft Legacy server lagging – performance tips
1) Increase RAM to 8 GB+. 2) Reduce server view-distance to 8 (server.properties). 3) Pre-generate chunks with the "Chunky" plugin. 4) Use /spark profiler to check which mods consume the most tick time. With Mado Hosting, all servers run on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores – eliminating hardware as a bottleneck.
