Carpet ROF Addition
An optimized Carpet mod that slightly disrupts vanilla features.
About this Mod
Overview
ROF is a Carpet extension primarily designed to improve the experience of playing on technical Minecraft servers. It optimizes performance by modifying selected vanilla mechanics while preserving normal technical Minecraft gameplay. As a result, it can deliver more substantial performance improvements than general-purpose optimization mods in certain scenarios.
With its default configuration, this mod does not change any vanilla mechanics.
Features
Ender Pearl Cannons
This mod focuses on reducing lag caused by ender pearl cannons. It significantly reduces the lag caused by TNT movement and explosions, as well as the lag and storage usage associated with ender pearls in flight. Some features offer multiple adjustable levels to help preserve normal machine operation.
Related rules:
Exceed Chunk Marker (ECM) (exceedChunkMarker) (Required by the following two features)
Optimized Ender Pearl Ticking (optimizedEnderPearlTick)
Raycast Optimization (optimizedRaycast)
Better Ender Pearl Tickets (betterEnderPearlTicket)
Merge TNT Next (mergeTNTNext)
Explosion Optimization (optimizedExplosion)
Merge Explosions (mergeExplosion)
Random Ticks and Mob Spawning
This mod optimizes random ticks and mob spawning through caching and asynchronous processing, primarily to reduce idle MSPT when large numbers of chunks are loaded.
Related rules:
Asynchronous Random Ticks (asyncRandomTick)
Asynchronous Natural Spawning (asyncNaturalSpawning)
Delayed Random Tick Chunk Cache (randomTickChunkCache)
Delayed Spawning Chunk Cache (spawningChunkCache)
Spawn Statistics Simplification Whitelist (spawnStatisticSimplifyWhitelist)
Note: Asynchronous Random Ticks and Asynchronous Natural Spawning almost entirely rewrite the random tick and mob spawning logic. They are therefore likely to be incompatible with other rules or mods that modify these systems.
Mob AI
This mod also reduces lag by delaying or limiting mob AI processing. In most cases, these changes are difficult for players to notice or have little effect on how players interact with mobs.
Related rules:
Mob AI Delay Chance (mobAIDelayChance)
Mob AI Delay Duration (mobAIDelayTicks)
Mob AI Delay Whitelist (mobAIDelayWhitelist)
Stacked Piglin AI Suppression (piglinStackingAISuppression)
Piglin Item Pickup Delay (piglinLootItemDelay)
Network Packets
This mod also reduces server bandwidth usage by limiting entity and particle packets in certain extreme situations.
Related rules:
Entity Spawn Packet Limit per Second (entitySpawnPacketLimitSeconds)
Entity Spawn Packet Limit per Game Tick (entitySpawnPacketLimitTicks)
TNT Entity Packet Optimization (tntPacketOptimization)
Particle Packet Range (particlesPacketsRange)
Other Features
In addition to the rules listed above, this mod includes several miscellaneous optimizations, though most offer limited performance gains. It also provides some debugging commands.
For more details, see the in-game documentation or the README in the GitHub repository.
Notes
This description is based on ROF 1.6.0. Since ROF 1.5.0 and later only support Minecraft 1.21.5 and above, some features may be unavailable on earlier Minecraft versions (1.21–1.21.4).
Before enabling any feature, please read its documentation in full. You can find the full documentation for Rules and Commands here.

Carpet ROF Addition server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (26.3). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Carpet ROF Addition compatible with fabric?
Carpet ROF Addition officially supports fabric for Minecraft 26.3, 26.2, 26.1.2. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Carpet ROF Addition – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Carpet ROF Addition consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
