About this Mod
Allows targeting living entities through transparent blocks.Requires Connector on neoforge.
This mod discards the block crosshair target to allow an entity to be targeted instead, when:
- The block has empty collision
- The entity is living and attackable
- You're not directly riding the entity
- The entity is within reach (exact interaction range in 1.21)
Thanks to this implementation, the block outline will also disappear while you're targeting the entity.
Technical Notes
This mod is comprised of a single mixin with about 4 lines of meaningful code:
- 2 lines to use the full entity targeting range if the block meets the conditions
- 2 lines to discard the block target if the full range was used and the entity meets the conditions
It performs no additional raycasts or radius searches.

Does SwingThrough need to be installed on the Minecraft server?
No. Modrinth marks SwingThrough as unsupported on the server side. Install it only in your local Minecraft mods folder. Your server can remain unchanged unless the mod page lists an additional dependency.
Which version and loader does SwingThrough require?
Use a file for fabric, neoforge, quilt and your exact Minecraft version. Supported versions include 1.21.1, 1.21, 1.20.6. Files for different loaders are not interchangeable.
SwingThrough is not working – what should I check?
First check the Minecraft version, loader version and required dependencies. Put the .jar file in your local .minecraft/mods folder and remove older duplicates. Because this mod is client-side, adding server RAM will not fix it.
