About this Mod
In vanilla Minecraft piglins are easily distracted by gold and will not attack players who are wearing golden armor. With this mod installed the distracting properties of gold armor are extended to any armor that has a golden trim applied!
FaQ
Can this affect be applied to other trim materials?
Yes, while the base mod only applies to the golden material you can use a datapack tag to apply the mod to other materials of your choice. Any material in the distractingtrims:distracts_piglins tag will have this effect.
Does normal gold armor still distract Piglins?
Yes, this mod only extends the functionality to also consider the trim of the armor.
Is this a server or client mod?
For best results it is recommended to install this mod on both the client and server. While it's possible the mod may work if only installed on the server it has not been thoroughly tested and is not explicitly supported.

How to Install Distracting Trims on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (26.2).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Distracting Trims". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Distracting Trims server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (26.2). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Distracting Trims compatible with fabric and forge and neoforge and quilt?
Distracting Trims officially supports fabric, forge, neoforge, quilt for Minecraft 26.2, 26.1.2, 26.1.1. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Distracting Trims – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Distracting Trims consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
